ELCO was the most famous builder of PT boats during WWII - Boats that allowed General Douglas McArthur to escape from capture by the Japanese at the beginning of the war, prowled the waters of the south Pacific, and Mediterranean during the war destroying enemy ships & barges, and were made even more notable by John F Kennedy's PT-109.
